In Saint Paul's first letter to the Corinthians, he instructs the Corinthians in what is affectionally called the “Chapter of Love” the most significant characteristic of a Christian, love. He writes of all the talents and gifts he may receive from God of prophecy, understanding, service to the poor and even martyrdom, without love, “it profits me nothing.” 1 Cor. 13:3
In all that we do, we do for the Glory of God, motivated by our love of God and love for our neighbor. Saint Paul continues, love suffers long, and is kind… love never fails... “And now abide faith, hope, love these three; but the greatest of these is love.” 1 Cor. 13:13 Over the last couple years we have reached wonderful milestones and great accomplishments for any church. We paid off the mortgage ahead of schedule, we started our iconography project and installed marble flooring, repaired our parking lot and the great cherry on top is the Holy Consecration of our beautiful church.
Along with these great accomplishments we had excellent festivals with even better profits for our community. Some of these profits have helped local charities Kidd's Kids, Habitat for Humanity, Northside High School and Northside Inter-Community Agency (NICA). We have an ongoing relationship with Presbyterian Night Shelter providing volunteers and basic necessities and began a new community partnerships with local charity NICA and Meals On Wheels. In addition to this, we are now the new home to the Northside Neighborhood Association, they will meet once a month in our Community Center. All of this is made possible by God's grace and your continued commitment to loving Him and loving your neighbor.
Join us by making your 2021 Commitment to support these worthy ministries and outreach and help them grow. Giving to His Church is a way to thank God for His grace and generosity, it is an opportunity to evaluate the blessing we have received and how we may love our neighbor and become a blessing to others.
Please give prayerful consideration to the commitment you are making. A check mailed to the church is most meaningful when accompanied by your presence, by your willingness to serve, by your prayers, by your commitment and by your love. Giving is an expression of your commitment and love and an expression of thanks for the many blessings in your life.
In Christ's love,
